Sofia Mavragani

Sofia Mavragani (b. Athens, 1978) is a choreographer working at the intersection of dance, theatre, cinema, and visual arts. Her practice explores the relationship between body, voice, and socio-political context, consistently challenging conventional performance formats and opening choreography to broader audiences. She studied Choreography at ArtEZ University of the Arts (Netherlands) and Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business. Her work has been presented at festivals and institutions including FIBA Buenos Aires, documenta 14, the Athens Epidaurus Festival, Onassis Stegi, Arc For Dance Festival, and the Kalamata International Dance Festival, as well as in unconventional spaces such as cafés, strip clubs, ports, and public agoras. Alongside her artistic work, she develops educational and research platforms with an international presence. She is a founding member of the artistic network FINGERSIX.
