ARC International Contemporary Dance Festival, one of the most vibrant meeting points of contemporary dance from Greece and abroad, is back in its 17th edition, May 15 to 25, 2026.
Drawing inspiration from the central theme of #rupture, artists from 10 countries present 17 dance performances, in world or country premieres, which will be hosted over the course of 10 days at the Olympia City Musical Theatre “Maria Callas,” Sychrono Theatro, in other well-known cultural venues in Athens, and online.
ARC17 directly engages with the present moment. As 2026 moves amongst ruptures and forms of separation, an urgent question is now arising imperatively: How can we survive emerging rifts and face the end of the world as we knew it? Can we dance through ruptures and refuse separability? And thus perhaps refigure the world in all its wild, pulsating, wayward complexity, with us mindfully and consciously present?
In its 17th edition, ARC features performances that move from rupture to rapture, from rift to shift, from singularity to sociality. It shares dancing tales of transgression and entanglement. It brings on stage the connecting abundance of love and laughter, the liberating joy of mourning, the pleasure of growing older while thinking anew across divides, through cracks.
