Unrest could be perceived as a sign of a cunning intelligence, an expression of curiosity, concern, of a certain relentlessness to break out of familiarities and the readiness to care for what is fragile and threatened, for what exists and could exist. Unrest is a prerequisite for survival.

With the state of readiness experienced by contemporary femininity as a starting point, the dance production W(h)oman, choreographed by Eva Georgitsopoulou with music by Nefeli Lysimachou, draws inspiration from the elegance and power of the bodies’ femininity.
In a composition that abstractly imitates the innate ability of a pack of animals to detect danger and respond to it, performers collectively explore their ability to adapt through movement, discreetly transforming their shapes, qualities and trajectories—either to amplify their presence or conceal their identity, averting the possibility of being regarded as prey.
W(h)oman incarnates the poetry of self-protection, creating a refuge for bodies that have mastered the art of vigilance, paradoxically revealing their innate elegance and resilience.

The work W(h)oman, with music by Sebastian Diakakis Nilo, was first presented by the Greek National Opera Ballet as part of the contemporary dance triptych Colors at the GNO Alternative Stage at the SNFCC in 2023.
