
Melina Seldes
Melina Seldes is an Argentinian artist and pedagogue who works in the performing arts and cultural field for over 20 years, presenting her work across Argentina and more than 30 countries. She has collaborated with institutions such as the National Theatre of Scotland, Gessnerallee Zurich, Tanzhaus Berlin, ImPulsTanz Vienna, and Artus Theatre Budapest, among others.
She was awarded the Banco Ciudad CTBA Prize (2021) for the creation of Nothing To Hide (Argentina) and has directed works including her solo La Ilusionista, intercultural theatre performance La Trocha (Iberescena – Ecuador/Colombia/Argentina), the music performance Los trenes matan a los autos and dance performance How do you imagine the devil? (Berlin). As a performer, she has worked in both dance and theatre play, with companies in Switzerland, UK, Greece, Argentina, between others.
Seldes is the creator and teacher of El intérprete_THE PERFORMER, an international program that hosts more than 200 participants annually. She is co-director of Llegás Theatre Festival, member of Planta Inclán venue. She is founder of LEM, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of performing arts and interdisciplinary practice, since 2009. She holds a BA in Dance Creation (2005 ArtEZ, Netherlands) and an MA in Physical Theatre (2007, University of London).
El intérprete_THE PERFORMER is a program in continuous development and evolution, incorporating 20 years of research and teaching practice by its director, Melina Seldes. El intérprete_THE PERFORMER has reached more than 350 people in various European and South American cities, and over 1,000 in Argentina.
Public and private institutions from several countries have supported the implementation of the program and granted scholarships to its participants.
